He is Risen, a song to sing and celebrate for Resurrection Day!!!
* Sorry about the low volume, you may have to turn up the volume unless you have a good speaker system or app like Itunes.
I recorded “Lay Him Down”, this evening April 16, 2017. A few minutes later I recorded the instrumental and initially I titled it Lay Him Down the Instrumental. I cried while playing the instrumental on the keyboard and the spirit of the Lord impressed upon me the title should be "HE IS RISEN" for the instrumental. I thought I was crying for my Lord thinking of what he had suffered but the chords I am playing are saying Vida which is spanish for LIFE. So I guess there were also tears of JOY. That means resurrection life for now which will lead to our eternal life. This is for all who have put their faith and trust in HIM. Glory to God the Father and Son and Holy Spirit.

The Making of “Lay Him Down”
The two main verses and chorus of the song “Lay Him Down” all glory to God, come from a vision I had in July 2014. The details surrounding this vision will be in my e-books, "My Dance with the King" and "Dancing with the King to Heaven's Chords". In the vision I could feel in my spirit envisioning the Lord’s face having been beaten and bruised as he was lying on the ground.
From this vision the Holy Spirit led me to write these lyrics as …I imagined the conversation between the rich man, Joseph of Arimathaea, Nicodemus and the soldiers when he asked for Jesus body to be taken down off of the cross. Some of the scriptures say the body was handed over to Joseph, meaning the soldiers took him down and handed him over and another says Joseph took the body down.
In either case of the whole scenario that took place there on Calvary.... he had to be taken down and laid down to prepare his body for burial. Also, though the crown of thorns were put together to mock Jesus, we know those thorns symbolized the real crown Jesus wears now as he sits on his throne at the right hand of the Father in heaven. He is waiting to soon return to the earth to rule and reign as King of Kings and Lord of Lords as He now reigns in heaven.
To God be all the glory!!!! Thank you Jesus for all that you have done for us!!!
Scriptural references for song lyrics:
Jesus body is turned over to Joseph of Arimathaea
(Matthew 27:57-60 KJV) 57 When the even was come, there came a rich man of Arimathaea, named Joseph, who also himself was Jesus' disciple: 58 He went to Pilate, and begged the body of Jesus. Then Pilate commanded the body to be delivered. 59 And when Joseph had taken the body, he wrapped it in a clean linen cloth, 60 And laid it in his own new tomb, which he had hewn out in the rock: and he rolled a great stone to the door of the sepulchre, and departed.
(Mark 15:43-46 KJV) 43 Joseph of Arimathaea, an honourable counsellor, which also waited for the kingdom of God, came, and went in boldly unto Pilate, and craved the body of Jesus. 44 And Pilate marvelled if he were already dead: and calling [unto him] the centurion, he asked him whether he had been any while dead. 45 And when he knew [it] of the centurion, he gave the body to Joseph. 46 And he bought fine linen, and took him down, and wrapped him in the linen, and laid him in a sepulchre which was hewn out of a rock, and rolled a stone unto the door of the sepulchre.
(Luke 23:50-53 KJV) 50 And, behold, [there was] a man named Joseph, a counsellor; [and he was] a good man, and a just: 51 (The same had not consented to the counsel and deed of them;) [he was] of Arimathaea, a city of the Jews: who also himself waited for the kingdom of God. 52 This [man] went unto Pilate, and begged the body of Jesus. 53 And he took it down, and wrapped it in linen, and laid it in a sepulchre that was hewn in stone, wherein never man before was laid.
(John 19:2, 5, 38-41 KJV) 2 And the soldiers platted a crown of thorns, and put [it] on his head, and they put on him a purple robe, ... 5 Then came Jesus forth, wearing the crown of thorns, and the purple robe. And [Pilate] saith unto them, Behold the man! ... 38 And after this Joseph of Arimathaea, being a disciple of Jesus, but secretly for fear of the Jews, besought Pilate that he might take away the body of Jesus: and Pilate gave [him] leave. He came therefore, and took the body of Jesus.
At the ninth hour Jesus died
(Luke 23:44-46 KJV) 44 And it was about the sixth hour, and there was a darkness over all the earth until the ninth hour. 45 And the sun was darkened, and the veil of the temple was rent in the midst. 46 And when Jesus had cried with a loud voice, he said, Father, into thy hands I commend my spirit: and having said thus, he gave up the ghost.
(Matthew 27:45-51 KJV) 45 Now from the sixth hour there was darkness over all the land unto the ninth hour. 46 And about the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying, Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani? that is to say, My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me? 47 Some of them that stood there, when they heard [that], said, This [man] calleth for Elias.
48 And straightway one of them ran, and took a spunge, and filled [it] with vinegar, and put [it] on a reed, and gave him to drink. 49 The rest said, Let be, let us see whether Elias will come to save him. 50 Jesus, when he had cried again with a loud voice, yielded up the ghost. 51 And, behold, the veil of the temple was rent in twain from the top to the bottom; and the earth did quake, and the rocks rent;
Mary meets the Lord on the way to tell the disciples he’s risen
(Matthew 28:6-9 KJV) 6 He is not here: for he is risen, as he said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay. 7 And go quickly, and tell his disciples that he is risen from the dead; and, behold, he goeth before you into Galilee; there shall ye see him: lo, I have told you. 8 And they departed quickly from the sepulchre with fear and great joy; and did run to bring his disciples word. 9 And as they went to tell his disciples, behold, Jesus met them, saying, All hail. And they came and held him by the feet, and worshipped him.
Jesus shall reign and rule from Jerusalem bringing peace
(Zec 14:4, 8-9, 11, 16, 20 KJV) 4 And his feet shall stand in that day upon the mount of Olives, which [is] before Jerusalem on the east, and the mount of Olives shall cleave in the midst thereof toward the east and toward the west, [and there shall be] a very great valley; and half of the mountain shall remove toward the north, and half of it toward the south. ...
8 And it shall be in that day, [that] living waters shall go out from Jerusalem; half of them toward the former sea, and half of them toward the hinder sea: in summer and in winter shall it be. 9 And the LORD shall be king over all the earth: in that day shall there be one LORD, and his name one. ... 11 And [men] shall dwell in it, and there shall be no more utter destruction; but Jerusalem shall be safely inhabited. ...
16 And it shall come to pass, [that] every one that is left of all the nations which came against Jerusalem shall even go up from year to year to worship the King, the LORD of hosts, and to keep the feast of tabernacles. ... 20 In that day shall there be upon the bells of the horses, HOLINESS UNTO THE LORD; and the pots in the LORD'S house shall be like the bowls before the altar.
(Rev 19:15-16 KJV) 15 And out of his mouth goeth a sharp sword, that with it he should smite the nations: and he shall rule them with a rod of iron: and he treadeth the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God. 16 And he hath on [his] vesture and on his thigh a name written, KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS.
[Heb 12:2 HCSB] 2 keeping our eyes on Jesus, the source and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that lay before Him endured a cross and despised the shame and has sat down at the right hand of God's throne.
[Mat 28:6-7 NIV] 6 He is not here; he has risen, just as he said. Come and see the place where he lay. 7 Then go quickly and tell his disciples: 'He has risen from the dead and is going ahead of you into Galilee. There you will see him.' Now I have told you."
[Mar 16:6 NIV] 6 "Don't be alarmed," he said. "You are looking for Jesus the Nazarene, who was crucified. He has risen! He is not here. See the place where they laid him.
