God Is Healing Wounded Hearts
Psalm 23:1-6 NIV - A psalm of David.
1 The LORD is my shepherd, I lack nothing. 2 He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside quiet waters, 3 he refreshes my soul. He guides me along the right paths for his name's sake. 4 Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me. 5 You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows. 6 Surely your goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the LORD forever.
In my quiet time with the Lord this morning he told me to read Psalm 23 and share with the Morning Manna with love readers that he wants to heal any and all wounded hearts. He said, Faye, tell them how I've healed your once wounded heart and how you now rest in a place in me where there is no presence of evil, the cup of peace overflows you like a mighty rushing river yet it leads to still and calm waters beside green pastures. Tell them how you dwell in the house of the Lord through the tabernacle of grace which is in my heart inside of your heart. It is where I want all my children to come and take solace in me.
[Isaiah 55:3 NLT] 3 "Come to me with your ears wide open. Listen, and you will find life. I will make an everlasting covenant with you. I will give you all the unfailing love I promised to David.
I can tell you the Lord has been faithful in every way, every word he has spoken to me has come true. I seek him every day all day long. I love him so. I'm only sharing how God has blessed me with a deeper walk with him and he wants me to share it with everyone, for those who are wanting to walk more deeply with him. For sure that's not the only place God meets us but this is a special place we can go if we want to. It's a place where I go in him when I want to talk to him or hear from him regarding anything of concern or just seeking his will. It's a peaceful place of rest where I feel really close to him. Remember it was said that Enoch walked with God.
That's exactly what I wanted and I do walk with Him. I can literally feel him at times walking by my side. Do you feel that close to him? I hope so, it's a beautiful experience for sure. Remember it was also said that Moses was God's friend. Exodus 33:11 NIV - says, "The LORD would speak to Moses face to face, as one speaks to a friend." Jesus said we are his friends.
[John 15:15 KJV] 15 Henceforth I call you not servants; for the servant knoweth not what his lord doeth: but I have called you friends; for all things that I have heard of my Father I have made known unto you.
The church is privileged to be both his bride and his friend, though some will know him only as a casual friend in this life time because of their own choosing. John the Baptizer knew Jesus as a friend and stated that the bride would be closer because she belonged to the bridegroom. See as it is stated here at John 3:29 NIV - 29 "The bride belongs to the bridegroom. The friend who attends the bridegroom waits and listens for him, and is full of joy when he hears the bridegroom's voice. That joy is mine, and it is now complete."
*Added insight: As John has stated here, he is the friend of the bridegroom but the bride belongs to the bridegroom. The word translated as belongs comes from the Greek word echo, Strongs G2192. It means to hold, to own or have as one's possession. Have we surrendered our life to the bridegroom allowing him possession of our soul, permitting him to take hold of our life walking hand in hand with him. The new insight is that of John who is not the possession of Jesus yet it says he attends the bridegroom.
When you own something you want to take care of it. Do we as the bride take for granted the bridegroom's love because we know he will take care of us? Do we take his grace and mercy for granted? Or do we realize how blessed and privileged we are to be in such a close position with the Lord? Do we desire to attend to him as a friend, taking personal interest in him, seeking to find out and do what is pleasing to him. John, a friend attended the bridegroom, waiting, listening for him. Hearing the bridegrooms voice brought him joy and without it , all was incomplete.
The word attending is used in the NIV and the complete thought is rendered from really two greek words. First, it is the Greek word histemi, Strongs G2476 which means to bid to stand for in the midst of others or before judges, to stand by or near being immovable and firm. The second word is the Greek word akouo, Strongs G119. It is translated as " hear " 418X but it also means to attend to as one considers what has been said.
So in the final analysis we see that John as a friend is loyal in face of opposition, firm, immovable, listening and anticipating to hear the voice of the bridegroom so that he can attend to the needs of the bridegroom. His loyalty cost him his head literally.
[Mark 6:24-25 NIV] 24 She went out and said to her mother, "What shall I ask for?" "The head of John the Baptist," she answered. 25 At once the girl hurried in to the king with the request: "I want you to give me right now the head of John the Baptist on a platter."
If John merely a friend of the bridegroom feels this way about the Lord, all the more so should we. Our love should be overflowing knowing His ownership of us was bought at such a great price, for his precious blood is proof of his tremendous love for us. Joy describes the condition of John's heart at hearing the messiah's voice. Is his voice like a calming stream that brings a surpassing peace to your mind and heart. It was to John I bet. It is to me. [Phil 4:7 DBY] 7 and the peace of God, which surpasses every understanding, shall guard your hearts and your thoughts by Christ Jesus.
But what was it that made John so firm in his stand for the Lord? It was because he knew exactly who Jesus was.
[John 1: 6-9 KJV] 6 There was a man sent from God, whose name [was] John. 7 The same came for a witness, to bear witness of the Light, that all [men] through him might believe. 8 He was not that Light, but [was sent] to bear witness of that Light. 9 [That] was the true Light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world.
Do we know the Lord? One day we will finally get to know the Lord as Moses did, visibly face to face. When we see Jesus we see the Father. [John 14:9, 11 KJV] 9 Jesus saith unto him, Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? he that hath seen me hath seen the Father; and how sayest thou [then], Shew us the Father? ... 11 Believe me that I [am] in the Father, and the Father in me: or else believe me for the very works' sake.
But for now through eyes of faith, we can see him face to face in the tabernacle of his heart located in the temple of his love. I go there boldly each morning asking for grace for the day to empower me to do what he has called me to do for his eternal glory. You can go there too. You don't have to go far, no traveling through space. Just look within your heart. His heart is in our heart, the true temple of today through the Holy Spirit. There is where we can get to know him. Also reading the word will help us get to know him for he is the Word of God.
[1Co 6:19-20 NIV] 19 Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; 20 you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your bodies.
[Pro 30:5 KJV] 5 Every word of God [is] pure: he [is] a shield unto them that put their trust in him.
[John 1:1 KJV] 1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
I have my early morning routine when I wake up. Sometimes I read my healing scriptures out loud or read a passage(s) of scriptures he has put on my mind. I sit in my chair looking out the window to thank him for his beautiful creations. There's two little bunny rabbits I see on occasion that chase each other over and over again. I love to watch them playing and frolicking on the green grass and the parking lot. They appear to be playing tag or hide and seek, which reminds me of something I read a few years ago in Tommy Tenney's book, "God Catchers".
He talked about how Father God likes to play hide and seek with his children. I learned to play this game with the Father and I finally got caught by him but sometimes it's the other way around, that I catch him. haha For what seemed to be a long time, he chased after me and finally I fully surrendered letting him catch me. Then at one point the game started over again which I initiated. I started chasing after him because I LOVED BEING in HIS PRESENCE. Now I wanted to draw even closer to him. It's all fun no matter who is doing the chasing or who catches who. The chase is fun for sure but the clincher is in the final catching.
Do you remember as a child ever playing hide and seek with family or friends? Do you remember the exhilaration you felt with your heart pounding at the moment you were caught? You both fell down laughing. That's the feeling I felt and even feel now when I think about the moment God caught me, when we both laughed at our coming together. The unspeakable JOY of being in HIS PRESENCE is undeniable. We have to be like a little child with God. When we lay aside our own agenda, and seek him with all our heart like a child he begins the game of hide and seek with us. He even likes for us to pursue and chase after him. Better yet, He LOVES it!
Yet, if we are new in this game, most times He chase us leading us in the game with the Helper, his Holy Spirit where we may end up in a place all alone, feeling isolated in the game called life. This part of the game of hide and seek may be most challenging. If and when we are led into the wilderness the Holy Spirit helps us to adapt reminding us that God is a LOVING GOD and in control and will not let us down if we don't give up and faint or fall by the wayside. Even so, He will pick us up and nurse us back to health.
You know something I find amazing is when he's doing the chasing our mindset is totally different from when we are chasing after him. Maybe it's because we're not in charge when he's chasing after us. As the game of hide and seek with God leads us into the wilderness where we are hiding there's no one around, no friends, no spouse, no children; just us alone with ourself and our thoughts. We may be thinking, what will I do if he catches me?
I can't possibly live up to his expectations. I can't be perfect, I've tried and I always mess up, falling short. Don't you see, he already knows this about us but He still wants to be with us. All he ask of us is that we try having a pure heart towards HIM. He knows we will never be PERFECT though we are encouraged to reach for it, to be perfect as our heavenly Father is perfect. The best we can do in this sinful flesh is walk in and after HIS Holy Spirit because He is the Perfect ONE, we will be abiding in Him. The perfection is in Christ. That's why he left heaven to come down to earth in the form of a man to save us from our sins. He's wanting to catch you and I to tell us that it's okay, he likes who we are in HIM. He made us forming us out of the dust. Yet there is no condemnation for those who are (abiding) in Christ Jesus.
Who are we to say to the potter, why did you make me this way or that way. You don't have to keep running away from me my child, he says. Instead run into my loving arms where I will hold you and heal all the wounds in your heart child. Wow, I was astonished when I realized I could really hear God speak to me those words to heal my wounded heart. It didn't happen overnight either. It's a matter of getting to know God and learning to trust Him. When we arrive at this point in our relationship with God we like to chase after HIM, pursue HIM with all our might and strength. Now we're the initiator in the game of hide and seek.
Our chase begins when we no longer live to please ourselves but find more pleasure in doing the things we know are pleasing to him. The game is most enjoyable I feel when we are at this point in our relationship with the Lord. Whether we are chasing God, pursuing Him or He is chasing us is irrelevant. We want to catch him and the thrill of the catch is so gratifying to our soul. But by now it's even enjoyable if He's chasing us because either way we end up with HIM. He's the best CATCH! We start to LONG for HIM, for His presence because HIS LOVE IS SO AMAZING. We now want to please HIM and do whatever it takes to STAY CLOSE to HIM and COMMUNE with HIM. Glory to God!
I'm still walking it out with him day by day. It took some work figuring out which voice was his and which was mine or the enemy's voice. He told me that when I begin to understand clearly who he is and get to know him I will be able to discern when I'm hearing from him. Sometimes the enemy pretends and comes as an angel of light but can a zebra remove his stripes? No! Neither can the enemy remove the anger, vile speech, lust, lies and every form of evil from his being and the truth comes out in the end. Prayer, reading the Word and seeking God's will leads us to the place where we can hear his voice.
All of his sheep will know and recognize his voice. So in all of this I'm telling you who are reading this, if you are feeling distant from God he is now speaking to you. First repent and rend your heart to God. Submit fully, surrender your heart and soul to him. Maybe you have past hurts and broken relationships that have left you with a wounded spirit. It's not beyond repair and God can heal it for you with the balm of his healing graces. It comes through the gift of the holy spirit. Go to God in prayer. Approach his throne with a humble heart yet boldly, don't be afraid. Jesus opened the way...his body was the curtain that was torn so that we may have access to the Father. He asked me to tell everyone today that he wants to heal all the wounded hearts. Go to Abba daddy, he's waiting for you now.

Rom 8: 6-14 NIV - "Those who live according to the flesh have their minds set on what the flesh desires; but those who live in accordance with the Spirit have their minds set on what the Spirit desires. The mind governed by the flesh is death, but the mind governed by the Spirit is life and peace. The mind governed by the flesh is hostile to God; it does not submit to God's law, nor can it do so. Those who are in the realm of the flesh cannot please God. But if Christ is in you, then even though your body is subject to death because of sin, the Spirit gives life because of righteousness. And if the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead is living in you, he who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies because of his Spirit who lives in you. Therefore, brothers and sisters, we have an obligation--but it is not to the flesh, to live according to it. For if you live according to the flesh, you will die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the misdeeds of the body, you will live.
