Can Flowers Bloom In The Desert?

Did you know that beautiful flowers like these actually bloom in the desert? We may be going through a spiritual drought ourselves, feeling like we are in the desert. Everything around us looks dead, we may even feel dead inside. But Jesus offers himself to you and I, the true living water. He will satisfy our thirst for anything we may need whether it's love, security and finances, food and shelter, or health it doesn't matter.... Compare Psalm 1: 2-3
Psalm 1: 2-3 NIV - "but whose delight is in the law of the LORD, and who meditates on his law day and night. That person is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither-- whatever they do prospers."
Read, Meditate and Apply the Word
Jesus offered the Samaritan woman at the well what he called living water. It is not your everyday H20 drinking water that he was offering her. Living water represents the Word of God. In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God and the Word was God. The Word of God is more than the written word for the Word became flesh as a gift offering to the world. Jesus is the Amen being the answer to every need we have.
We can find all the answers we need as we read , meditate and apply the Word of God. Then we will see real change with tangible evidence of new life, new growth and vitality to our natural barren land. Because of Adam's sin we inherit a barren wasteland kind of life. Jesus offers water that will prosper our life. Abiding in Jesus the Word plants us by streams of living water. It makes for a constant flow of his love and wisdom and grace. He invites you and I to receive his love through grace to empower us in applying his wisdom.
John 4:10 NIV - "Jesus answered her, "If you knew the gift of God and who it is that asks you for a drink, you would have asked him and he would have given you living water.""
John 7:38 NIV - "Whoever believes in me, as Scripture has said, rivers of living water will flow from within them.""
Wisdom Leads To Natural Spiritual Growth
It is the wisdom of God, our knowing how to apply the Word of God in our life that truly makes the barren desert blossom and bloom with life and vitality. Imagine that our life begins as a small tree shoot planted in dry soil. When we appreciate the Word of God and truly delight in it recognizing the value it has for us, we come to understand the meaning of true prosperity. True prosperity is not about material riches but it is about being firmly planted in the soil of God's heart (his love) which provides food (nutrients) for (us) the tree. His Word which is the living water is comprised of God's wisdom, knowledge and power. Therefore, love sustains the soil with all it contains of God's knowledge, wisdom applied instructs the nutrients (knowledge) in the soil what to do in our life and the holy spirit enables the instructions to be carried out.
Henceforth, we will begin to see a beautiful transformation of new life all around as we remain planted in God. Not only will we see other trees (our brothers and sisters in Christ around us) but we can appreciate now the flowers blooming all around us in due season if we stay planted in him the Word which yields streams of living water. Psalm 1: 2-3 NIV - "but whose delight is in the law of the LORD, and who meditates on his law day and night. That person is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither-- whatever they do prospers." Now fruits of the holy spirit, joy, peace, faithfulness, generosity, self-control, and patience begin to bloom as flowers all around us which is God's love in action. These beautiful blooming flowers emit a fragrance of the sweetest perfumes of heaven imaginable. This is the land God promised to his chosen people. A land flowing with milk and honey. It's a spiritual paradise that we can reside in now as his chosen people.
6 "On that day I swore to them that I would bring them out of Egypt into a land I had searched out for them, a land flowing with milk and honey, the most beautiful of all lands." Ezek 20:6 NIV
19 "If you belonged to the world, it would love you as its own. As it is, you do not belong to the world, but I have chosen you out of the world. That is why the world hates you." John 15:19 NIV
True Riches Are More Valuable Than Silver and Gold
This spiritual paradise can be realized no matter what part of the world we may live in. The proof is in the pudding of third world countries where Christian lives are being changed everyday for the better, their being built on a solid foundation of the Word and not material riches. It is all about our abiding relationship with the Lord. It truly is about him. The riches of this world cannot compare to the riches, the true prosperity that God gives us. His love endures forever and in this spiritual paradise there is love and peace that surpasses all knowledge and understanding. Nothing, not anyone nor anything can take this spiritual paradise away from us. One day the literal physical paradise will be restored here on earth as it was in the beginning before Adam sinned but for now why not embrace God's spiritual paradise and call those things that are not as though they were.
